SOMERVILLE KIWANIS CLUB HOST THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR SENIORS

SOMERVILLE_On Thursday, November 9th, the Kiwanis Club of Somerville again hosted a thanksgiving dinner for senior residents at the Culinary Arts Department of Somerville High School.

Chef David Ginivisian and his amazing group of students prepared a complete turkey dinner with all the fixings followed by apple pie dessert. Nineteen Kiwanis members helped by about a dozen family members and friends, served the meal then cleared and washed the dishes. After this great meal, the seniors were entertained by the famous Somerville Kiwanis Karaoke Singers led by Maestro Sal Bertolami, with songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s. A few seniors even left with a little extra cash in their pockets.

Kiwanis President Dawn Austin thanked all the seniors who attended as well as Chef David and his students for tonight’s wonderful meal. Distinguished Past President David O’Brien acknowledged all the veterans in the room and thanked them for their service. David is also a retired U.S. Army colonel. Some photos of the event are attached to this release.
