Obituary
Peter A. Montalto, Jr., of Somerville and Wareham. Born to Peter and Jennie (Cammarata) on April 26, 1934.
Beloved husband of over 60 years to the late Ann (Trainito). Loving dad to Deborah Connolly and husband John of Billerica, Joanne Keefe and her husband Tommy of Somerville and Peter III of Wareham. Cherished Papa to Megan Arruda and her husband Michael of Billerica, Michelle Connolly and her fiancé Tony Papa of Lowell, Thomas Keefe of Wareham and Adrianna Keefe of Woburn. Adored great grandfather of Owen and Haleigh Anne Arruda of Billerica. Peter is survived by his loving in-laws, many nieces and nephews, his Godson Mark and countless friends. Pete was a proud member of Local 25 Teamsters. He was a past President of the Hamilton Beach Association and also served for many years as a Governor. He loved and was dedicated to his beach house. He was the founder of the long running Spaghetti Super started in 1976 held each August.
Peter fought a long and hard battle with dementia and spent his last two years living at BrightView in Wellspring Village, Billerica where he was cared for with love, respect and compassion. Here he was known as the Mayor and was called Papa by everyone. For the last year, Brighton Hospice has also been there for Peter. We would especially like to thank his devoted nurse Lauren, who cared for his every need. There have been countless people at Brightview from the front desk, the cleaners, the chef, directors and all his aides. They have been so good to the entire family. We would like to give special thanks to Leah who was with him from day one and his devoted CNA Jess. He was treated as if he was their own Papa and was so loved by all. We are forever grateful to all of them.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in Peter’s name to Brighton Hospice, 1234 Chestnut St., Suite 101, Newton, MA 02464
