MCCARTHY, Rita A. – Of Somerville September 18, 2022. Beloved daughter of Philip and Sarah (Doherty) McCarthy. Dear brother of David McCarthy of ME, Irene Day of NH, the late Philip, Frank, Paul, Robert “Buddy”, Helen Davis, Walter, Kenneth, Richard, Dorothy McCarthy and Mary D’Arcangelo. Sister-In-Law of Kathryn McCarthy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours for Rita will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Friday morning 9:30 – 10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Catherine Church, Somerville at 11:00. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rita’s memory to the Catholic Charities. Rita was an International Bank Investor for Chase Manhattan Bank of NY, she also owned and operated Karma Antiques in Somerville before her retirement in 1999.
