MATTIE’S OBITUARY
Mattie Lexis Fitzgerald, a resident of Malden, MA and beloved daughter of Shannon Fitzgerald of Malden, MA, passed away in a tragic accident on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. She was 19 years old.

Mattie was born in Cambridge, MA on September 25, 2002. She attended the Ferryway School in Malden, MA and then Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield, MA and was a graduate of the Class of 2021. She would light up any room with her infectious smile and was loved by so many. She was a beautiful soul, with the brightest personality anyone could have, and sass that wouldn’t quit. As many would say, “to know Mattie was to love her.”

Mattie is predeceased by her father, Edward Fitzgerald. She leaves behind her loving sisters, Jordan Sherburne and her husband Kristopher Sherburne of Pembroke, NH, Taylor Leavitt and her fiance William McNally of Northborough, MA, Ashley Fitzgerald and her fiance Michael Miller of Dracut, MA, and Courtney Fitzgerald of Malden, MA. She also leaves her niece Kayla, and nephews Shawn, Joseph and Owen, niece baby girl Sherburne, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many friends.

Visiting hours will be held for Mattie, in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Sunday September 18, 2022, from 2:00 – 5:00, Grief Counseling onsite during visitation hours. A Funeral Procession will begin Monday morning from the Funeral Home, at 9:30am, followed by a Graveside prayer service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett at 11:00.
