Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,
Billy,
All u are saying that u are going to do is great. We need this city to be brought back to its glory days.
One of my biggest concern is the sidewalks on my street and I’m sure many other streets.
As u know my father is in a wheelchair.
& The sidewalks are in horrible condition.
As I’ve told u via telephone that I’ve called the mayor’s office and my complaints fall on deaf ears.
For over 15 yrs the sidewalks are being up lifted buy the tree roots, & all they ever do is put a cold patch of tar hot top & that just makes a huge bump.
It’s harder for someone that is disabled!
& The legal width of the sidewalk has to be 3 ft I looked into it,
Well they are not in many areas of my street were the trees are.
My father can’t even go out in his wheelchair.
He is confined to his driveway.
It sadenns me to see a man 87 yrs old .
Pays his taxes to the city of Somerville for over 42 yrs never ever late.
& He can’t even get a smooth path for him to go out & enjoy the neighborhood. I am sure that you will address these problems .
Thank you,
Tony
