MICHAEL’S OBITUARY
DEVEREAUX, Michael P. – 65, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville passed away on July 20, 2020 after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Retired Captain Somerville Police Department.
Beloved son of the late Thelma (Anderson) and Arthur Devereaux.
Devoted father of Tara M. Ward and her husband Mark of Stoneham and Nicholas and his wife Karina of Woburn.
Dear brother of Donald Devereaux and his wife Marie of Reading, the late John, Daniel and Arthur Devereaux and his surviving wife Barbara.
Cherished Papa of Mark, Isaac, and Charlotte Ward.
Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends and colleagues.
Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Friday morning, July 24th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, Somerville at 10AM.
Relatives and friends invited to attend.
Calling Hours Thursday 4:00PM – 8:00PM.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Prior to his retirement, Michael was proud of his service with the City of Somerville Police Department, obtaining the rank of Captain and serving as commander of the East Somerville Substation.

  2. I went through school years with Mike K-12. Was always a great kid who was also a great man and police officer. RIP Mike.
