Somerville Remembering John P. Rogan

Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of John P. Rogan on his passing this past week.

John P. Rogan was good friends to many of us here in the city and especially here at the News.

John was named the Somerville News Weekly’s Special Person of the Week twice for his continuous commitment and multiple contributions to the community as well as honoring him for all his past achievements as a sports legend.

John P. Rogan will be sadly missed here in Somerville.

John P. Rogan
1959 – 2019

ROGAN, John P. – 60, A lifelong resident of Somerville passed away on September 9, 2019 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Beloved son of the late Margaret (Kelly) and John J. Rogan, Jr. Loving brother of Mark B. Rogan of Somerville, Caroline Hardy and her husband George of Reading, Jeannine Rogan of Arlington, late Joanne Hardy and Christopher Rogan. Dear uncle of Kelcey, Courtney, John, Timothy, Richard, and Kyle. Also survived by several cousins, extended relatives and friends.

John was a graduate of Somerville High School Class of 1977 and Boston State College Class of 1981. He participated Somerville Sports Programs as an athlete himself and later in the role of coaching and was an avid Boston Sports Fan.

John’s funeral was this past Saturday.
