Somerville Speakup Line:Poles Invading Somerville

Dear Billy T and Somerville Speakup Line,

Hi, as a somerville resident I completely missed the city memo that the city was going to install these white things (Poles) in the middle of the street. I figured I would share this with you as you communicate effectively to us on the Somerville News Weekly and thought this would be an interesting to share.

This picture was taken at the corner of Pearl St. and Glen. I feel so bad this poor home owner can’t even get in and out of there driveway without knocking it down.

  1. Upon further investigation I noticed that a water pipe cleaning company is cleaning the pipes on lower pearl st. That’s one of their separating/warning pylons. That was not placed there by the city. It was probably placed there by a passing village idiot. My apology to the city.

  2. This is the new traffic calming method in the big city. Slow down the cars who do not want to hit them but forget the fact the medium to larger vehicles cannot fit by them.

It is creating a greater hazard for older, younger drivers. Bicyclist, and pedestrians especially those that are visually impaired.

It is no different than the pedestrian crosswalk signs that continually get crushed by vehicles.

A complete waste of money a hazard and a great game to see how many you can hit in one day.

Bad drivers not paying attention cause accidents and injuries these signs just add to the problem.

The board of buffoons should be all over this but there is a lack of common sense with a majority of them.

Keep pissing away money foolishly while accomplishing nothing.

  3. I think I saw that memo, it was titled “How to get long time living residents to sell and get out of Somerville.” I knew the Portuguese family who use to live there. Fathers name was Raul, he saw the old memo, so he sold it for a lot of money. He then moved to Billerica which has a street name of Somerville with trees. And he lived happily ever after. All you have to do is look at these village Idiots who are elected and the millennial morons who are moving in and also read the local newspapers to understand nothing is too stupid for them to talk about and pass ordinances on including the unpublished memo on that plastic road separator in front of driveway. I have seen the enemy and it is us.
