Real Life Somerville Police Stories: Joshua RESENDES (Armed & Assault Burglary, Witness Intimidate, VCO Poss DW)

On February 17, 2019, I was patrolling area East 1 for the Somerville Police Department. At approximately 01:01, Ofc. Hartsgrove (East 4), and I, were dispatched to XXXXXX for a male party that had been assaulted. East 3, Ofc. Scrugli, and East 2, Ofc. P. Canty, responded as well.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with two male parties both known to the Somerville Police as XXXX and Joshua Resendes, and were separated. XXXX stated that he was sleeping in his bed when Joshua forced his way into his bedroom, made a comment about “xxxxx”, and then struck him in the face multiple times. XXXX had a visible gash on his left eyebrow that was noticeably bleeding. XXXX declined any medical attention, and photos of the injury were taken and are attached.
XXXX resides xxxxxxxx. There was visible damage to the xxxx door from the exterior showing forced entry. Two doors leading to XXXX’s bedroom were also punched through to gain entry. Photos were taken of all the doors and attached to this report.

When I asked Joshua what had occurred, he stated that he entered the residence because he needed to talk to XXXX about xxxx XXXX.

Joshua Resendes was placed under arrest for:
