Somerville-Naveo Credit Union’s Board of Directors appointed Tina Mancini as New Chairperson of the Board

(Somerville, MA) Naveo Credit Union’s Board of Directors appointed Tina Mancini as the new Chairperson of the Board during their most recent board meeting. Mancini has been a member of Naveo’s volunteer Board of Directors for five years and most recently served as chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Technology Committee. She is currently a member of the ALCO, Personnel and Executive Committees of the Board.  Mancini is the second consecutive female Chairperson of Board, following Maria L. Santos who served for 10 years. The Board of Directors thanks Maria for her 10 years for leadership on the Board and commitment to the Credit Union mission.

Mancini brings her strong Accounting background and Portuguese roots to her new role as Chairperson. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bentley University while working full time and studying at night. Today she is an Accounting Supervisor for Cambridge Associates, LLC. in Boston where she has worked for 10 years. Mancini believes that being a member of the Credit Union goes beyond just understanding financial needs – that it is more about being a member of the community. Mancini is a strong advocate of education and community involvement. She believes both bring great success to any home or community

Mancini was a volunteer CCD teacher for over 20 years at St. Joseph’s Church in Somerville and has participated in the choir at St. Anthony’s Church in Cambridge for many years. She is proud of her Portuguese heritage and being a single mom to her son Felice and daughter Lourdes. In her spare time, Tina enjoys dancing and camping.

“I’m pleased to see Tina Mancini assume the leadership role of Chairperson of the Naveo Credit Union Board of Directors. Tina is replacing Maria Santos, who for the last 10 years assumed the chairperson role with a great deal of integrity, commitment, innovation, and forward thinking which lead to Naveo’s success. I’m delighted that Maria will stay on the Board and assist Tina in her transition to her new role as Chairperson.  Over the past few years I have enjoyed working with Tina in the various roles that she held on the Board. Tina’s leadership skills were well demonstrated as chair of the Audit Committee. Tina took this role very seriously and her leadership helped us build a stronger credit union. Tina’s passion for serving our members and the community will be a great asset in her new role at the Credit Union. I look forward to continuing to work with Tina in making Naveo an even more relevant financial institution in the communities we serve,” commented Rui F. Domingos, Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union
