Go to Foodie Heaven in East Somerville’s Culturally Diverse Gastronomic District
Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6 pm
SOMERVILLE –Catch the flavors—and the culture—of Somerville’s East Broadway neighborhood with an interactive tasting tour of more than a dozen restaurants and three pop-up beer gardens at the East Broadway Foodie Crawl on Tuesday, September 26th from 6 pm to 11 pm. Participants in this cultural crawl get a ticket to some of the city’s best-kept secrets and the opportunity to taste some of the most authentic ethnic foods from countries like Ethiopia, Italy, Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil & more.
Like last year, crawlers will be able to relax and enjoy local craft beer at Somerville-based Aeronaut Brewing Co’s Pop-Up Beer Garden as well as at newcomer beer garden pop-ups Rincon Mexicano and Maya Sol Mexican Grill.
The Foodie Crawl invites participants directly inside each participating restaurant for a walking and tasting neighborhood tour that sets it apart from other food events and festivals. With more than 20 restaurants participating, including yearly favorites like Fasika, La Brasa, Maya Sol and Vinny’s Restaurant, The Foodie Crawl offers a true tasting experience. Vegetarian samplings will be offered at each venue, and dessert at select restaurants.
East Somerville’s beautiful streetscape provides outdoor seating and music and entertainment for more than 700 people enjoying the crawl and the sights and sounds of East Somerville’s culturally diverse culinary district. This year, crawlers can experience a NEW mural in front of the sunflower mural on Caldwell Street. It is part of a transformative move intended to make the area even more compelling as it continues to expand.
All proceeds from the Foodie Crawl benefit East Somerville Main Streets, which is committed to building a safe, sustainable and prosperous multicultural community by developing a vibrant businesses district at the neighborhood’s heart.
Tickets for the Foodie Crawl are on sale now. You can buy them for $25 online and $30 at the door if there are still tickets available (crawlers can add two beer tickets for $12. Each individual beer will be sold at $7.00). Tickets are available at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/foodie-crawl-2017-tickets-27897337688?ref=estw. The event has a rain date of September 27th.
