Somerville Police kept unused or expired medication out of the wrong hands by properly disposing of them this past Saturday at their Prescription Take Back Day event.
Residents stopped by the Public Safety Building that’s located at 220 Washington Street to dispose of their unwanted medications.
They dropped off medications in pill form on Prescription Take Back Day or they can drop them off any day (24/7) at a kiosk located in the lobby of the public safety building by removing any personal information from pill bottles.
People were asked to kindly please leave the name of the medication on and put them in a plastic bag.
Liquid medications were mixed with a non-edible substance like cat litter or sawdust in a plastic bag and placed in the trash.
