Our condolences go out to the Saltman family for the loss of Leo.

Leo Saltman, a Somerville High School Graduate, a United States Marine at Parris Island, a former Somerville Department of Public Works employee and a father who had many friends across the city who enjoyed his friendship.

You could always ask Leo anything that has to do with tree’s in the City of Somerville and he could answer it for you with a smile! Leo was a good friend to many here in the city as well as here at The Somerville News Weekly.

  1. Leo was one of the goofiest & nicest guys I have ever known. He did not only love his family so much, he also respected all of those around him. I have never heard him say anything bad about anyone & no one can say he has ever made anyone feel uncomfortable in his presence either. A no nonsense kind of guy but always greeted you with the warmest smile or with a silly joke. My heart aches for all of those who love him & will miss him so much. R.I.P. Leo a/k/a Goofball
