State Senator Sal DiDomenico recently provided remarks at the 69th annual Student Government Day at the State House, a day designed to help foster civic engagement, encourage public service, and provide students with a deeper understanding of how the legislative process works. Each year, every high school in the Commonwealth is invited to send two students in their junior or senior year to participate in the annual event. During a mock Joint Session of the Senate and House, Senator DiDomenico spoke to students about the importance of participating in our democracy and encouraged them to pursue their political aspirations. “It was an honor to represent the Massachusetts Senate and address our future leaders at this year’s Student Government Day,” said Senator DiDomenico. “This program is a great opportunity for students to participate in the legislative process and get an inside look at how our government works. I have no doubt that these young adults will go on to do great things, and I hope this day helped to inspired them to pursue a career public service and play an active role in our political process.”
