Michael L. Chiapperini, Jr. – Of Lynn formerly of Somerville, passed away at home on Friday, June 5, 2026. He was 58 years old.
Born in Boston and raised in Somerville, he was the beloved son of Sanda (Smith) Herron) and the late Michael Chiapperini.
A Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 12th at St. Catherine Church 185 Summer St., Somerville at 10:00AM. Please meet directly at church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, June 11th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Interment will be private
Sending heartfelt condolences to Michael’s family and friends. Fifty-eight years is far too short, and the love that comes through in these few lines says a great deal about the man he was — a cherished son, and clearly someone deeply woven into the Somerville and Lynn communities. May the gathering on Thursday and the mass on Friday bring some comfort, and may the stories shared there keep his memory close. Thinking of Sanda and all who loved him during this difficult time. 🕊️
So sad to see Michael Chiapperini remembered this way, especially knowing he was born and raised in Somerville — that kind of local connection always hits harder. Oddly enough, I was thinking how some people use mmol/l to mg/dl conversions when talking about health stuff, and it reminds me how many everyday details matter when you’re looking after family and staying connected to home.
