It has been an honor to serve as your Mayor.
I am deeply proud of the many things that we’ve accomplished together in four short years, and we have accomplished much together for Somerville!
My administration led our recovery from COVID. We made more affordable housing and good jobs, with fair pay. Our reforms and fiscal management earned Somerville’s first Triple A bond rating, just renewed for the third year in a row.

We stopped the displacement of many residents, families, businesses, and artists, through the work of the Anti-Displacement Task Force that we created. We’ve also led the nation in combating climate change and restoring our urban ecosystem.
We created the economic development agreements and new zoning for my new, “Tough Tech” Innovation Hub, with Somernova, and we set the benchmark for negotiated, community benefits and labor agreements. And we negotiated local union contracts that created fair pay and pay equity that union leadership have called “the best contracts we’ve ever received.”
I thank my family and friends, my many other supporters, and every Somerville resident and community member who answered my call to be present at numerous meetings and workshops to make this historic progress happen! Including many union locals and local community groups, as well as our dedicated Somerville City employees and staff.
We accomplished all of this and much more together, while we figuratively and literally built the foundations for a Somerville where we can all thrive together long into the future.
