Obituary
Johanne Dorvil– Of Somerville, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. She was 53 years young.
Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Johanne was the cherished and loving daughter of Jean Delva of Cambridge and the late Marie Dorvil.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Johanne was the heart of her family. She found joy and purpose in spending time with her loved ones, and nothing made her smile more than witnessing the accomplishments of her granddaughter. Her love for them was boundless, and her presence brought warmth and strength to those around her.
Johanne had a deep passion for travel. Exploring new places with her beloved husband brought her comfort and peace. Whether discovering a new city or returning to familiar places close to her heart, she embraced the world with curiosity and joy.
She was also a talented and loving cook, known for preparing delicious meals that brought people together. Her kitchen was always filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting aroma of her home-cooked dishes.
Beloved wife of Max Toussiant. Devoted mother of Vanessa Peralte and her husband Benji of Lawrence.. Cherished grandmother of Vabie Luna Peralte. Loving sister of James Apont of Canada, Farah Pierre of Milton, Donald Mordan of Everett, and Marjorie Aubry of Brocton. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 12 in St. John the Evangelist Church 2254 Massachusetts Ave. Cambridge at 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Services will conclude with burial at Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
