Obituary

John J. MacDonald of Somerville, MA, passed peacefully on February 27th in Wakefield, MA, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was a man of simple joys and great stories. He spent his days listening to the oldies and dancing, reminiscing about his travels, and indulging in his favorite snack—orange soda always at the top of the list. He never met a phone call he didn’t like and could talk for hours, day or night.

John had a deep appreciation for a good home-cooked meal, doodling in his spare time, and time spent with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his sisters, Sheila and her husband, Rick; Diane; Mary; and Laurie, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Marion and Norman, and his brothers, Tommy, Paul, and James.

John’s spirit and love for his family will be fondly remembered. In his honor, put on a favorite song, enjoy a home-cooked meal, and maybe even pick up the phone—John would have liked that.

A graveside service was held privately at Brookdale Cemetery.
