Ram Lubhaya Sehli, originally from Mukandpur, Punjab, passed away on January 24 2025, after a brief, yet courageous, battle with heart illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Neelam Sehli. He was the proud father of Shruti Saini, Nikhil Saini, Abhishek Sehli and Priya Sehli, and the adoring grandfather to his four grandchildren: Mia, Iyla, Azuri, and Yuma. Ram was the beloved son of the late Shanti Devi and late Amarnath Sehli, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. He is survived by his brothers, Subhash Chandar Selhi and Vijay Kumar Selhi, and his sisters, Prem Lata Bansal and Sudesh Kumari Khosla.

Ram’s professional journey began in Saudi Arabia in 1976, where he worked as a foreman for a construction company. Seeking a better life for his family, Ram migrated to the United States in 1992. He became a successful business owner operating multiple convenience stores in the Greater Boston area. Known for his charm, charisma, and unwavering kindness, Ram was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He played a pivotal role in establishing many families in America and was a cherished and loving figure in his community.

In his later years, Ram found joy in spending time with his grandchildren, visiting family members, and watching Indian films. He often traveled to India, where he was warmly embraced by a large network of friends and supporters. For Diwali, he would buy fireworks and treats for the children in his village of Mukandpur, a testament to his deep generosity and commitment to others. His selflessness and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his legacy will be remembered and celebrated.

Ram’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, generosity, and warmth will continue to inspire and be cherished by his family, friends, and all those touched by his life. #ForeverTeamRam

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ram’s life on Friday (Jan 31st, 2025) from 5 PM to 8 PM at George L Doherty Funeral Service (855 Broadway, Somerville, MA).

The Last Ritual & Cremation will take place at The Lucy Stone Chapel located (171 Walk Hill St Boston MA 02131) on Feb 1st 2025 at 9 AM.
