Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line: homeless are moving into other areas of the city!

Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Billy the homeless are moving into other areas of the city. They have returned under 93 at the crosswalk from the hotel to Stop n Shop. Sadly the Gilman Square Park has three homeless men staying there. The City has had to remove the portable potty and the water station as a result.

Seven hills park looks worse than a bad campsite. A taxpaying resident gets a ticket for placing a trash barrel out too early but homeless people can loiter, defecate, and do drugs in our neighborhoods without any response by the City. The elected officials are allowing our city to be destroyed one day at a time. Residents need to call them out on the conditions of what once was a nice place to call home.

Notice the photo of the guy shaving. Just another day at stop and shop. Another homeless guy shaving in the bathroom. What a mess.

It’s just another typical East Somerville quality of life shit show day!

  1. It started with the open borders DEMON -CRATS /MORONS INVADING Our beautiful America .
    People are being killed,shot at,sexual assaulted,drug dealers etc.etc.
I just cannot wait for President Trump return .
He’s been under attack by these MORONS but Our Mighty Lord is the boss as my President Trump says
One of these days they will learn their lesson once and for all

  2. It definately needs to be addressed i live in the south shore but work in medford on mystic ave right off the highway and see the same exact same thing that are in the pictures even had a homeless person scattered lots and lots of clothes in back of my work parking lot pounding his chest and screaming at nothing

  3. Our “elected” officials have no intentions of solving this problem and it is only going to get worse. The cost of living/income inequality is destroying this city.

  4. So since they’re homeless what do you expect them to do? At least they’re trying to stay clean and use bathrooms instead of defecating outside. There’s no need to disparage people who are homeless, they have to sleep somewhere.

    1. My comment agreeing w/ 2:18 pm seems to appear separately. I absolutely do NOT agree with author of the original letter.

      1. I lived in Everett/Medford for over 50 years . Don’t go blaming Reagan for this mess that your left leaning city officials that you elected caused! I had no issues in my time there when Reagan was president. You’ve created your own nightmare, so own up to it!

  5. Thanks Ronald Reagan for emptying and closing mental health facilities so rich people could get richer. America, nowadays, kind of sucks.
