Cooper, Catherine Lisa- It is with great sadness that Catherine, affectionately known as Katie, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was 24.

Born in Winchester and raised in Reading, Katie cherished her family deeply. Their presence brought her immense joy and happiness throughout her life. Music was a constant source of delight for Katie, and she was widely known as a devoted “Swiftie” and fan of One Direction. Her passion for music brought a smile to her face. Katie was also happy when outdoors, on walks, or listening to stories.

Katie will be lovingly remembered for her smile, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering love for her family and pets. She was the beloved daughter of James and Judy (Ganat) Cooper of Reading. Beloved sister of Sean Cooper, Erin Welshoff and her husband Brendan, and Jenna Cooper. Cherished granddaughter of the late Francis and Grace (Piraino) Ganat and Ralph and Helen (Clancy) Cooper. Lovingly cherished by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and her Westie dogs, Bella, Jack, and Rosie.

Katie was a proud graduate of The Campus School at Boston College where she enjoyed 12 years with so many wonderful and devoted teachers and classmates. Her family is extremely grateful for the many dedicated and warm-hearted nurses throughout Katie’s life, including Heather, Lauren, Mandy, and Meaghan.

Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home at 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on SATURDAY, July 20th from 9:00AM to 10:30AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

A prayer service will be held in the funeral home following calling hours at 10:30AM. A Celebration of Katie’s Life will be held following the prayer service.

Interment will be private.
