Obituary
De Young, Edward J. “Ed”- Of Naples, Florida, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was 76.

Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Hebert and Catherine (Smith) De Young. Ed was a family man and enjoyed spending quality time with his boys. Whether it was attending one of their sports games or just hanging out and catching up about life. He loved to plan family vacations. He loved seeing everyone laughing and enjoying themselves together. When the family began to grow he took the title of being a grandpa easily. On his down time, he LOVED to fish. He felt the most peaceful while being beside a body of water.

Beloved husband of Kathleen “Kathy” (Livingston) De Young. Beloved father of Andrew and Thomas De Young both of Naples, Florida. Cherish step-father to Michael Khoury and his wife Maureen of Andover, Patrick Khoury and his wife Peggy of Somervile, Mathew Khoury and his wife Nicemaria of Somervile. Loving grandfather of Mikey, Chris, Madelyn, Aiden, and Mia Khoury. Dear brother of the late Herbet, George, James, Ronald, Robert, and Francis De Young and the late Carol Benjamin. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Monday morning at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. Interment will be private.
