Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Hey Billy… noticed a guy outside my window putting a hole in the telephone pole. I asked what he was doing since the liquid he was putting in was going all over the ground.

He said preserving the pole with a pesticide so I asked him what was the name of the product. He just shrugged his shoulders & said he had no idea. I reminded him that dogs go around these poles. He didn’t seem to care. I think a notice should of been on each pole warning owners of pets. So I called 311, the woman who answered said “oh I have no idea, the city doesn’t put anything into poles” so after pressing her, she sent me over to the head of engineering. Jesse I believe his name was. I got his voicemail “hi I am away from my desk for the for seeable future, call my cell” wtf 🤬 what has happened to our city?! So frustrating.
