MEDFORD, MA – City Councilor Richard “Rick” Caraviello announced his candidacy for Mayor of Medford. With over 12 years of experience serving on the Medford City Council, including three terms as President, Caraviello brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the community.
Caraviello is a lifelong resident of Medford, having raised his children in the community with his wife of nearly 47 years, Carol. He has been an active member of the community, supporting organizations such as the Medford Kiwanis, Medford Chamber of Commerce, and the Medford Youth Hockey Association.
Throughout his career, Caraviello has demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting working people and their families. He has stood alongside unions, supporting all union resolutions that come before him and even standing on the picket line with Medford’s teachers, firefighters, and city employees.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Medford,” said Caraviello. “I have spent my entire life in this community, and I am committed to working hard to make it an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I will bring a thoughtful, collaborative, and common-sense approach to city government, and I look forward to serving the people of Medford in this expanded role.”
One of Caraviello’s proudest accomplishments is bringing a new, state-of-the-art Public Library to the city of Medford, and his work as co-chair of the foundation that raised $6 million to offset costs to the city. Bringing this groundbreaking project to life demonstrates his commitment to investing in the community.
Caraviello is running for Mayor out of a genuine love for the City and a desire to help keep Medford a great place to live, work, and raise a family. He brings a consistent, transparent, and common-sense approach to city government, ensuring that the needs of the community are always at the forefront of decision-making.
