Updated:Exactly 43 minutes of posting this article, the Somerville DPW had the eyesore all cleaned up! Thank you Somerville DPW for another job well done! The shopkeeper and it’s customers who made the mess in the first place should take responsibility on their own and not have to depend on other people to clean their mess!A2D679A1-F92E-4BFE-B463-4F7583A6CE15

Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Davis Square looks like a #@#%hole on this first summer Wednesday of July! How are people supposed to eat outside with this trash all over the sidewalk? This is repulsive, Davis Square needs to get its act together. Place looks like 3rd world country  We are better than this!

Defund the council person in Davis Square!

  1. I agree people leave donations and people walking by RIP open the bags and throw everything around .
The owner of the store is not responsible.
On trash day we have people go three out garbage and they throw it on the street. Who responsible for this? People like to complain about things they have no idea what’s going on. We become a country of cry baby’s

  2. I disagree, the shop owner has done nothing wrong. It is a charity organization. It is the idiots who leave the stuff there. It is the same as littering. Same as Salvation Army. They are doing good also and have to put up with this. If the people leave this stuff in front of city hall are you going to fine the mayor? They could leave this in front of any business so why would it be the fault of the business?

    1. Arthur Moore how about the (so called Goodwill because they only donate less than 10% to charity) put containers out so people can put donations in them
