THE SOMERVILLE NEWS WEEKLY SPECIAL PERSON OF THE WEEK:EILEEN COSTA

Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Eileen Costa

Eileen Costa grew up on a quiet dead-end street in Somerville with five siblings and five cousin next door. She got married forty years ago and bought a house five blocks from there (where she still resides.
Eileen loves to walk all over the city. She takes her grandchildren to some of the city’s beautiful parks and loves to attend all the “Somers treats” events. Her favorite is the Fire Works.

Eileen has worked at Somerville City Hall for the past eighteen years. She’s been with the 311 Department since it’s inception.
Eileen loves helping constituents over the phone but her favorite part of the job is interacting with people at the Welcome Desk as you enter the front door of Somerville City Hall.
She attends many local charitable fund raisers across the city and she’s always there with her husband Tony to lend a helping hand assisting charitable causes.
Eileen also takes part in lots of the City’s activities including “Spring cleaning up” days and “Shape up Somerville” initiative.
She is now looking forward to sunny weather, sitting at one of the great restaurants at Assembly Row.

Our hats are off to her true Somerville spirit!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.

Congratulations!

  1. Eileen is an ambassador to the human race, she is the most thought ful and kindness person I know. A role model for all to emulate.

  2. Great choice, Eileen is one of the best. Somerville couldn’t find a better person to represent the city.
