This past Thursday afternoon, the Somerville Kiwanis Club hosted its Annual Tri-meeting Luncheon benefiting Toys for Tots.
The event took place at the Mount Vernon Restaurant that’s located on Broadway in Somerville.
The United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots toy drive officers who were in attendance at the luncheon collected and filled two van loads of toys for needy children to open up on Christmas morning.
The Somerville High School Choir students opened up the event with a concert producing joyous holiday music that was just flowing throughout the function hall.
Also in attendance participating in the event were officers and members of both the Somerville Rotary Club as well as of the Somerville Lions Club.
The Somerville Kiwanis Club Tri-Meeting Luncheon is an annual event that has been taking place for a number of years in an effort to collect new unwrapped toys.
The event is run in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps program, Toys for Tots as well as to raise needed funds for charities that the Somerville Kiwanis Club support.
