Somerville News Weekly congratulates Somerville Auxiliary Police Chief Jerry Carvalho on his retirement (at the end of this month) of the Somerville Auxiliary Police after 40 yrs of service to the city.

Jerry, a lifelong Somerville resident has been a long time credit to the department and a asset to our community. 

Jerry has volunteered and has spent countless hours on the department providing leadership, training and helping citizens of the city during times of need

The Somerville Auxiliary Police Department Is a volunteer police force operated through the police department of Somerville. The department is utilized in Law Enforcement and safety details, such as the Boston Marathon.

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.
