Somerville News Weekly Special Person of the Week Dennis Leary

By Frank Santangelo

Dennis Leary graduated from St Clements Grammar School in 1975 and still has many great friends from there that still keep in touch with eachother.

He is a Somerville High Class of 1979 graduate and was elected Class President by 1 vote over his close friend, Michael Albano, who both loved and enjoyed their high school years.

Dennis played football and still to this day never forget the Thanksgiving Day Football Game in 1978 against Arlington before 10,000 people, when they played for league championship but lost.

Later on in life Dennis ran for school committee in 1983 in Ward 7 as he is very proud of being from Somerville and still lives here and will always consider it home.

Today Dennis is a self-employed electrician and whenever there is a charitable event going in around the city, he is the first one there volunteering his time to help out and support his fellow Somervillians!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.
