Hundreds of firefighters, police officers, various police law enforcement agencies, friends, relatives and residents of the city of Somerville and beyond turned out to say goodbye on Friday morning to Somerville Firefighter-EMT Robert Quinn who sadly passed away this past week.
Uniformed motorcycle police officers from just about every city and town were there to lead the funeral procession along with dozens of fire trucks which lined the streets of Somerville as well as for the Somerville Fire and Police Department’s honor guard units who were there in full force this past Friday morning to pay their final respects to a man who was very well loved in the city in which he worked.
Robert was a firefighter since July 1986 to present, a total of 29 years four months with the Somerville Fire Department.
A mile long procession to honor Firefighter Quinn began at the Doherty Funeral home that is located at the Powderhouse Rotary and it continued to Saint Ann’s Church on Medford Street where Robert Quinn’s funeral services were held.
Robert was a fantastic person as well as a gentleman and he will be sadly missed by many here in Somerville.
