Somerville/Medford Remembering David J. Marks

David J. Marks, Of Somerville and Richlands, NC was born, raised, and educated in Somerville, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on June 19, 2024.

He was the cherished son of Joan (Dulkowsky) Marks and the late Robert E. Marks, Sr. After graduating from high school, David pursued a career as an electrician, eventually becoming a Foreman in Local 103, where he dedicated 20 years of hard work.

Outside of his profession, David found solace in listening to classic rock at home, where his voice could often be heard singing along. Known for his kindness and humor, he loved spending time with his family, sharing dad jokes and bringing laughter to those around him.

David’s passions extended to the beach and nature, where he found peace and beauty. Upon retiring, he fulfilled his dream of living by the water, building a beautiful home in North Carolina for his family. There, he enjoyed relaxing with his toes in the sand, driving his jeep Wrangler with the top off, and admiring the shoreline.

In addition to his love for the beach, David enjoyed sports, movies, and gardening, embracing the simple joys of life.

David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him

Beloved husband of 37 years to Catherine “Cathy” (Kippenberger) Marks. The devoted father of David Marks, Jr of Somerville, Ashley Marks of Somerville and Kelliann Marks of Somerville. The cherished and loving son of Joan (Dulkowsky) Marks and the late Robert Marks, Sr. of Somerville. The brother of Robert “Bobby” Marks, Doreen Warren and Richard Marks. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) on Friday, June 28th from 9:00AM to 10:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge at 10:45AM.

Burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
