DAVID’S OBITUARY:

Newton, David R.- Of Medford, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was 64.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Wilmington. He was the son of the late Robert and Frances (Bryant) Newton.

You could find him on a nice day out riding his motorcycle around the city, walking his cat or relaxing on the beach watching the waves crash against the sand. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He would go to any sporting event they were a part of. His grandchildren were his world and they would always bring a smile to his face. David fought a courageous, dignified battle with cancer and will be missed by all whom he loved.
Beloved husband of 40 years to Margaret “Peg” (Amato) Newton. Devoted father of Jason Newton and his wife Gina, David Newton and his girlfriend Ann, Ashley Newton, and Steven Newton. Loving grandfather of Julian Goodridge, and Emma and Isla Newton.
A Prayer service will be conducted in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10:30AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Services will conclude with David being laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
