Our sincere condolences thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Richard E. “Richie” August on his passing.

Richard E. “Richie” August  was a great guy who will be sadly missed here in Somerville.

AUGUST, Richard E. “Richie” — 82, of Somerville, who was born and raised in Cambridge passed away after a valiant battle against COVID-19 on May 16, 2020. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Hope (Gogolos).
Devoted father of Linda Devereaux of Somerville and her late husband Michael, Richard “Ricky” August and his wife Linda of NH, and June Greene and her husband Christopher of GA.
Dear Brother of Mary “Chickie” Troiano and Frances “Leo” August, both of Somerville.
Also lovingly survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by several siblings and 2 dear grandsons.
Mr. August was a retired truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union, Local 25 in Boston.
He will be laid to rest in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
Due to the current health crisis, funeral services are private.
A Funeral Mass for family and friends will be celebrated at a date and time to be announced.
