Governor Moura Healey intercepted/ hijacked all the money that was earmarked/promised for Massachusetts cities and towns for public safety, schools and streets from the Encore Casino contributions to the state of Massachusetts. What did she use it for her budget, illegal migrants, who knows? She also took the opportunity and zeroed out next year‘s balance to do the same as well.

Money that was supposed to be used for cities and towns for fire engines, equipment, schools, police stations, public safety and much more all got absorbed in Maura Haley’s piggy bank grab!

Now because of this, Massachusetts cities and towns are forced to raise their property taxes on residents to offset the money. they were promised.

The city of Everett was told last week no funds were available. I heard that Everett already uped their property taxes to offset it.

I would take some time and go through each community around here and add up. As of now zero funding. Do some research you may find more!

“The formal decisions will not be coming out until the end of May unfortunately. The Gaming Commission is having issues with the state department not re-funding this grant fund (although they are collecting taxes for it). It was left out of last years budget and has been proposed at zero funding again for FY26, so they are waiting for the state budget to be finalized prior to issuing any funds for FY26 grant applications”
