As many families struggle during uncertain economic times, union volunteers to bring toys for children in need through Medford Family Network
(Medford, MA) – In response to the escalating struggles faced by families in affording toys this holiday season, the annual Teamsters Local 25 Holiday Toy Drive is shifting into overdrive to spread joy through the Medford Family Network. This year’s Local 25 Toy Drive is more critical than ever, as ongoing economic challenges, coupled with inflationary pressures and the lingering aftermath of the pandemic, have left many families in need. Teamsters Local 25 members are rallying together to make a difference, delivering thousands-of-dollars worth of toys to the Medford Family Network and ensuring that children in need can experience the magic of Christmas. Teamsters Local 25 has a longstanding tradition of collecting and distributing toys to various organizations that assist families and individuals facing hardships during the holiday season. The Medford Family Network, an integral part of the Medford Public Schools, operates as a FREE universal parenting education and family support program. Emphasizing the positive impact of child development from prenatal to age 8, the program extends support to families caring for them. Funding is provided by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant, the Children’s Trust Massachusetts Family Center Grant, and the Friends of the Medford Family Network.
