“Man Arrested for Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors in Medford

Please see press release from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office regarding last night’s arrest of Hugh McEleney, 63, of Medford.

This is still an on-going and active investigation being conducted by the Medford Police Department and the DA’s Office.

MEDFORD – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Medford Chief of Police Jack Buckley have confirmed that Hugh McEleney, 63, of Medford, was arrested tonight and charged with dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

Earlier this month, Medford Police were notified that Hugh McEleney had allegedly been identified as part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by a Federal Task Force into child exploitation. It is alleged that McEleney was communicating with and sending images to an individual he believed to be a juvenile female under 15-years-old.

McEleney will be arraigned tomorrow in Somerville District Court. Hugh McEleney is currently employed as a firefighter in the city of Medford.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Medford Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.”
