Somerville/Medford Remembering Stewart Anderson

Stewart Anderson – Of Medford, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was 94 years old. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Eva M. (Sullivan) Anderson.

Stewart enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or golfing. Being in nature brought him a deep sense of peace and comfort, and he loved feeling connected to the world around him. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida, where the warm weather and beautiful golf courses were among his favorite things. Stewart also enjoyed spending time in Maine and New Hampshire admiring the beauty of the nature around him.

Above all, Stewart cherished time with his family. Whether it was a simple dinner out together or quiet, meaningful moments at home, he treasured every opportunity to share in their company.

Beloved husband of the late Joanne (Rego) Anderson. Devoted father of Glen Anderson and his wife Sandra of Stoneham, Debra McEvoy and her husband Robert of Medford. Cherished grandfather of Robert McEvoy, Ryan McEvoy, Kristin Jenkins, and Nicole Anderson. Loving great-grandfather of Vivienne and Eloise. Dear brother of the late Warren Anderson, William Anderson, Raymond Anderson, Grace Zaccardi, George Anderson and Donald Anderson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) on Monday, December 8th at 10:30AM. Followed by a graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford at 11:30AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 7th from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Stewart’s name to Mass General Development Office 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540 Boston, MA 02114-1101
