The Somerville Police Department Motorcycle Unit that proudly escorted the family of fallen MIT Police Officer Sean Collier on Wednesday to MIT in Cambridge for a ceremony in his honor.Over four thousand law enforcement officers, firefighters and first responders were in attendance at MIT including Vice President Joe Biden to pay a final tribute and bid farewell to an inspiring young man, a police officer who loved his job that left this world way to young.Officer Collier before recently becoming an MIT Police officer, worked at the Somerville Police Department in it’s IT Department while on the Somerville Police Department’s Auxiliary Police Unit.

Sean was scheduled to join the Somerville Police Department as a full time Somerville Police officer this coming summer.

Officer Collier was ambushed and brutally murdered last weekend by the two Boston Marathon Bombing brother suspects while in his police cruiser.

 Police, Motorcycle Clubs and Local 25 Expected to Escort Boston Marathon Bombing Victim’s Funeral

By William TauroFuneral services for Boston Marathon Bombing Victim Krystal Campbell are planned for Monday morning April 22 at 8:00am at ST. Joseph’s Church located at 114 High Street in Medford, Mass.With a heavy police presence expected to be at the funeral, members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 25 are said to be expected there as well and were asked to form a Human Shield and will be escorting the funeral procession the entire route.

The hundreds of bikers that were there on scene at Dello Russo Funeral home in Medford on Sunday are also expected to be attending the funeral services as well and will again form a barrier around the Medford funeral home. Then onto Saint Joseph’s Church and then later on to the cemetery.

The Westboro Baptist Church protesters have vowed to be there to hold signs and disrupt the service.

Local 25 is asking all it’s members to “Please be there in support of the Campbell family. Wear your Teamster Local 25 colors.”

15 to 20 DEA and State police agents surrounded the house at 67 Thurston Street (corner house at Evergreen & Thurston). They were reportedly there to question individuals said to be relatives of the fugitive Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnev. Several agents surrounded the home while investigators were inside. An unnamed source said that the DEA and State Police were sent there, once it was discovered that relatives of the bombing suspects might be living there, to ask them questions.

A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was killed early Friday morning, while the second suspect was being sought following an attack on police officers in Watertown that involved explosives.

According to sources, Boston Police are alerting officers and the public that first suspect had explosive strapped to his chest and detonated when in custody. One suspect deceased, second suspect (white hat suspect) still at large and considered armed and dangerous.

A manhunt is underway in Cambridge and Watertown looking for the suspects. They are believed to be armed and dangerous.

The victim is MIT Police Officer Sean Collier who was a longtime employee at the Somerville Police Department prior to becoming an MIT Police Officer who worked in the IT department and was on the list to be a Somerville Police officer.
