I am very pleased to announce that the City of Somerville has signed a three-year successor collective bargaining agreement with Somerville Firefighters Local 76 covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029, that delivers enhanced wage, leave, and other benefits for our Somerville Fire Department.
This agreement recognizes the skill and service of our firefighters, including their growing role in emergency medical response, while providing stability for Local 76, the City, and our taxpayers. I’m grateful to everyone who came to the table in good faith and got this done for our community.
