Obituary
Donna F. Thorne – Of Watertown, passed away after a long, courageous battle with dementia. She was 77 years old.
Born and raised in Somerville, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Sears) Thorne.
Donna was a vibrant and joyful person who was always smiling and truly enjoyed life. She had a deep love for music, and you could often find her singing and dancing along to her favorite tunes. She also enjoyed spending time in her group home, watching television with her close friends; especially her dear friend Bosco, who always made her feel safe and loved. Donna was also known to have a sweet tooth. Whether enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, she always made sure to have a delicious treat by her side.
Devoted sister of the late Barbara Aguiar who passed away on October 6, 2025 and her surviving husband Donald of Brockton. Cherished aunt of Michelle Bailey and her husband Terrance of Hanover, Kristen Sherman and her husband Robert of Warwick, RI and the late Daniel Preach Jr.. Loving great aunt of Krista Bailey, Jasmine Bailey, Brittany Bailey, Ashley Preach, Mikayla Bailey, Shawna Bailey, and Tiyanna Bailey. Also lovingly survived by extended family members and friends.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29th from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Followed by words of remembrance at 12:00PM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
