Somerville/Medford Remembering Mary L. Sulskonis

Obituary
Mary L. Sluskonis – Of Medford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was 69.

Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Lillian (Crosby) Sullivan. Mary was a woman who had deep pride and love for her family. She considered all of her nieces and nephews her children. Her love and devotion to them was similar to a second mom. When she wasn’t spoiling her “children”, you could find her sitting on the couch watching the Pats or Celtics, but never interrupt her on Monday-Friday from 2 pm-3pm…General Hospital is on! She would also enjoy a “friendly” conversation with her Dad and brothers about her favorite ball player, Carl Yastrzemski. Mary also enjoyed spending time with the “Bowling Girls of Southie”, weekend getaways were the best, she said. She enjoyed cooking for the family gatherings, her antipasto squares were a hit! Mary enjoyed her camping trips and day trips to the White Mountains and the Maine Coast with her husband, Stephen, who was also her best friend.

She was the beloved wife of 35 years to Stephen Sluskonis. Devoted sister of Jim Sullivan and his wife Marie, Jean Analetto and her husband Stephen, Eileen Toomey and her husband Stephen, Shawn Sullivan and his wife Erica, Dennis Sullivan and his wife Eileen, Margaret LaFauci and her husband Nick, Diane Burns and her husband Gary and the late Ellie. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
