Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line:Longtime Somerville Business Victim Of New Administration

Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Billy, like the video that you did at Mama Lisa’s Pizza the other night, the same happened to Alibrandi’s Barber Shop on Holland Street. My grandfather started that shop on October 4 1938. And has been on Holland st for 85 years.

The city took all the parking spots away. We are struggling and my dad is so upset. He doesn’t want to cut hair anymore. They broke the strongest and hardest working man I know.

Please do a video. The city does not care about small businesses anymore!!!

  1. It is an absolute disgrace an attack on small business. The amount of bikes riding on Holland St does not necessitate installing bike lanes on both sides of the street.
It only accommodates able bodied, athletic middle and upper class people. It denies elderly, persons with disabilities and people who need cars to access the area businesses.
It is a black eye on this administration and will not go away until the Mayor is voted out.
