Obituary of John “Jack” Leuchter

John “Jack” Leuchter of Stoneham, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 75 after several years of declining health. Jack died peacefully with his beloved wife of fifty-three years Patricia and their three children Kimberly, Shawn and Kelley by his side.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Jack is the son of late Alice B. (Leuchter) Ventre. He is a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is a humble and honorable family man. For 35 years he served as a Somerville Police Officer and three term Police Union President. He was loved and respected by all who knew him, but his greatest joy was in his role as “grandpa punky” to Logan, Paige & Savannah. He tried to be present for as many activities as his schedule allowed and everyone who knew him heard funny stories and knew the grandchildren’s names. They were his greatest joy! He always encouraged their passions whether it was building a ninja warrior course in the back yard, teaching them shake and bake basketball defense, or cheering them on at their dance recitals!
Jack was a kid at heart with a famous smirk that made all of our lives more fun. He will be missed but never forgotten! Jack was also an animal lover known as the dog whisper in our family. He had a blast spoiling all the grand dogs in the family with unlimited treats and hikes.
Jack was a hero to his children who aspire to be as good of a parent as him. He was a neighborhood dad and everyone’s friend.
Jack is the beloved husband of Patricia (Ray) Leuchter. He is the devoted father of Kimberly Levesque and her husband Roger, Shawn Leuchter and Kelley Sferrazza and her husband Michael. The cherished grandfather of Logan & Paige Levesque and Savannah Sferrazza, Jack is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs River, Yeti and Gracie.
