Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

I recently saw this on a Facebook posting and it absolutely caught me undivided attention and definitely raises a serious health concern for public safty!

These riders pay to rent these rental bicycles and the city may get some profit from them. My question is how are these are still allowed with all the body sweat, sweaty palms and sweat dripping off (“droplets”) them all onto the blue bikes? But, a an ordinary person can’t get their hair cut, go out for food and drinks or the gym? All these other businesses have had to be and are up to par and clean do to OSHA’S standards or would be shut down. Those bikes have COVID all over them. But why are they still allowed? The Blue Bikes Company have never come to sanitize, spray or wash them down but these city and towns, especially Somerville allows them to Still conduct business while picking and choosing what businesses and not even allowed to open.

  1. Yup. Been writing about this for weeks. As with most common sense things in this city it just goes on the ignore list. In this city people have to die first then there is a 50 50 chance they may do something in a few years.
