Hi Billy,

I wanted you and your readers to know that I filed this order and put it on the agenda for the City Council Traffic and Parking Committee meeting this Wednesday night, February 19, 6 PM in one of the two committee rooms on the 2nd floor of City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

“That the Director of Parking report to this Council on what the City does to deal with the problem that many residents do not pay automobile excise tax because they maintain out-of-state license plates on their vehicles.”

I read a letter to the editor in your paper expressing frustration about this and I thought it would be a good idea to pursue this as it is a reasonable concern.

The full agenda for the meeting can be found here: http://somervillecityma.iqm2.com/Citizens/Detail_Meeting.aspx?ID=3083

  1. Another attempted money grab. It is not illegal to have out-of-state plates, based on certain circumstances.
