Somerville Speakup Line: MBTA Biased?

Dear Billy T and Somerville Speakup Line,

They are running a survey on the bus/bike lanes for Broadway but only for bikers? Pedestrians don’t count? Never mind motorists who also use that road. How is this supposed to supply any unbiased information? See for yourself.

  1. Of course they will be biased I am sure the Mayor has his hands at the MBTA hackarama haven. Has anyone else notice there are buses that stop along Main St in Medford and take an early morning stretch or smoke break. It is evident the new bus lane has changed the schedule causing it to be took early.

This administration does not use common sense when implementing anything related to alternative transit. They pick everyone’s brains for ideas at public meetings then they do as they please. Imposing new changes prior to the start up of the million dollar green line extension.

When it is in operation it will have a major impact on bus use requiring less runs and maybe a change in the size of the vehicle needed. Being a city of four square miles it would make more sense to utilize the roads to efficiently move traffic through the city in a safe manor.

Instead we have backups on every cross town street creating much more pollution affecting every neighborhood. Cars speeding down side streets trying every possible way to skirt the traffic jams created by the geniuses making all the brilliant decisions.

Residents need to attend the meeting Monday December 9 th on the Broadway changes .
