City Council Public Hearings on AIRPLANE NOISE and POLICE ACTIVITY AT STRAIGHT PRIDE PARADE

There will be a Public Hearing before the City Council’s Committee on Public Health and Public Safety, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 6:00 PM, in the High School Auditorium, 81 Highland Avenue, on the Order of Councilor Jesse Clingan, Chair of the Committee, for public input on airplane noise in Somerville.

There will be a Public Hearing before the City Council’s Committee on Public Health and Public Safety, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 7:00 PM, in the High School Auditorium, 81 Highland Avenue, on the Order of Councilor Jesse Clingan, Chair of the Committee, for public input on the involvement of the Somerville Police Department in the recent Straight Pride Parade in Boston.

You and other members of the public are invited to attend and be heard at each of these Hearings. If you are unable to attend a hearing, you may send your comments by US mail or by email to the City Clerk, at 93 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA, 02143, or at cityclerk@somervillema.gov, but they must arrive no later than 12 Noon on the day of the hearing, in order to be sure they are conveyed to the City Council.

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND AND BE HEARD.

  1. Nobody should touch a policeman. Regardless of the type of event or whatever. As long as they are on duty at least the people violating them should be prosecuted heavily. We just cannot have that. They are doing their job and do not deserve to be treated like that. It is a thankless job for those who work hard at doing the right thing. Assaulting a policeman deserves serious punishment, not slap on the wrist. It is disgusting to see people in charge treating this so lightly. Obviously they are the ones not doing the job they were hired to do to let such a thing happen.

  2. No one should be allowed to injure or threaten a police dept employee. They are placed there to keep the peace.

    Anyone know how many of those arrested were from out of town? Antifa?
