Real Life Somerville Police Stories: Angelo DEVITO (Receive Stolen Vehicle) (Falmouth Warrant) & Glens STOCKI (Lowell Warrant) (Billerica Warrant)

On 01/02/19, I, Officer Christopher Collette was assigned to Somerville marked unit West Seven. At approximately 11:55 hours, I queried MA TAG xxxx. The plate was attached to a green Chevy pick up truck. Through the query I learned that the motor vehicle was registered to XXXX of Framingham MA. The vehicle had been reported stolen on 12/28/2018. I stopped the vehicle on Holland St. in front of Hodgkins Park. Officer Gee, Officer Nevin and Sergeant Holland responded to assist. I ordered the driver, a male later identified as Angelo Devito, to shut off the engine and step out of the truck. I then handcuffed the driver and his female passenger. I advised them that the truck had been reported stolen. Mr. Devito stated that the truck was his. I asked him who the vehicle was registered to. He advised me that the truck may have been registered under his father’s name. I asked Mr. Devito why his father would have reported the truck stolen and he stated that his father was looking for him.
I then spoke with the female passenger, Glens Stocki. She stated that she was unaware that the truck was stolen. Mr. Devito was found to have an active warrant for his arrest, Docket# xxxx. I placed Mr. Devito under arrest for the outstanding warrant and also charged him with receiving a stolen motor vehicle 266/28F. Ms. Stocki was found to have two warrants for her arrest; Docket#xxxx and xxxx. I arrested her as well. The vehicle was towed by Pat’s Tow Company.

Respectfully submitted,

Patrolman Christopher Collette B#302
