SPD Awarded 2018 Community Policing Award in the category of city population over 50,000

This past Wednesday afternoon, Chief Gary L. Thomann of the Pelham Police Department representing the New England Association of Chiefs awarded the Somerville Police Department with the 2018 Community Policing Award in the category of city population over 50,000.

This award has been a result of the dedication and commitment to this city and its department. Daily efforts have been recognized by an organization that represents all six New England States and is an “organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in the field of Law Enforcement.”

The collective efforts of every member in the Police Department ensures the safety of thousands of its community members.
