Dear Billy T and Somerville Speakup Line,

I would like to voice my concern about the rats.

I have called 311 many times about seeing a rat. The come once, bait the storm drain and never follow up.

The problem with that is I see rats every day (when walking my dog).

I’ve bought rat traps at Home Depot, the rats are so large they drag them off.

I have even staked them down.

But they manage to pull them selves out of the trap. I also bait on my property.

It’s not enough, very few people in the neighborhood bait or trap.

And the rat proof barrels aren’t so rat proof they have chewed through those.

I feel I’m at the mercy of the city (Mayor)  and that’s not a good place to be.
